after my family left, john's family came in and we got to have more vacation time at folly beach. well, i did...john didn't get to really vacation until the second week his family was here. we had a wonderful house with a view of the marsh, a crabbing dock and a huge back porch with rockers. it was a week and a half of making wonderful memories together. the 5 cousins had a blast. thank goodness for rebekah and caleb...they kept katilin, caroline and abby entertained. caroline actually slept in the big kid room in one of the bunk beds. huge step up! we cooked in, ate out and just had a blast. it was a longer vacation than we normally do, but somehow the time flew by even faster. it is an awesome blessing to enjoy each other so much!!

both sides of our families graciously decided to vacation right outside of charleston this year at folly beach so i wouldn't have to travel almost 9 months pregnant :) my family started off by coming first and we had a blast. the weather was a little cool, but made the days on the beach very pleasant. sarah, luke and caroline are at such great ages and had a blast playing together and making cousin memories. precious little andrew just sat around looking adorable and making me excited about my baby coming. my parents, sis and brother-in-law made it such a restful week for me by helping me with caroline. i barely had to do anything. my parents stayed a few extra days and worked like dogs helping us with stuff around the house that needed to be done before baby arrives. one of the highlights of the week was that papa brought the big girl bed he made for caroline. it's gorgeous!!! caroline loves it and sleeps like a log in her princess bed. it's exactly what i pictured for her and will be a treasure forever b/c of all the work and love papa put into it for caroline. we still have stuff to do in her room to finish it up, but we're getting there. here some pixs of caroline's bed and our time at the beach :)

here are lots of shots of baby fortney from about a week ago at exactly 32 weeks, 4 days. look at those lips and that nose :) also, this little one is flexible. he/she had their right foot straight up over the right side of its face and would not move it no matter what we did. it is amazing to see these shots. i'm in love already!! he/she is head down, which i already knew based on where i was feeling kicks and movement. caroline was head down and very low forever so i thought this one might do the same thing. they estimate the weight right now at 3lbs 9 0z, which is right around the 20% percentile at this gestational age. i somehow lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks and now i'm going in every week for a weight check and a non stress test on the baby to make sure the heart rate and movements are good. the dr was not happy with how skinny the baby's abdomen is so i'm trying my best to fatten he/she up and myself. praise the Lord, i managed to gain 2 lbs this past week and the non stress test today looked wonderful! we'll have another ultrasound next week to check the baby's growth again. continue to keep us in your prayers :)

caroline had another b'day party in charleston when we got back from our trip in marietta. most of her little buddies were able to make it and she loved it! we had it at a local park near our house and all of the kids played, ate and had a great time. we've said it many times, but we are so incredibly blessed by the friendships God has given us here..not only me and john, but most definitely caroline :)
